Product Description

DIY is either something you know how to do or you do not. There is no real middle ground here. There are a lot of people who can plaster a wall, fix a drain pipe, and paint a garage door at the drop of a hat with no problems whatsoever. Then there is the rest of us. The people who need all of the help they can get when it comes to doing any sort of DIY around the home. Luckily for us, the technology is out there to help, and the piece of equipment we are going to take a closer look at today is the Black and Decker LDX120C cordless drill.

So tell me a little more about the features

As a drill is often something that you will be holding at arm’s length for a long period of time, you will want it to be lightweight and easy to use. Thankfully, the people at Black and Decker have thought of this and they have crammed an awful lot into a lightweight, compact frame. Weighing only 3.4 pounds, this drill is small enough to use in the tightest of spaces. It is ideal for drilling into wood, plastic and metal, and the 11 position clutch will help you drill the perfect hole in all of these situations.

What’s good about it?

This drill packs in plenty of power for a drill of its size, and this means that it is strong enough to get almost any job done and done well. The battery is also very good, running for up to an hour at a time which is considerably longer than some of the Black and Deckers rivals. Ergonomically the drill is ok too, it is not the most comfortable drill to hold, but for one which is at the lower end of the pricing spectrum it is of good quality. To compare this drill to others you can visit and there you will be presented with a wide range of cordless drills to look at and weigh up against each other!

And what is not so good?

The complaints that have been made against this drill by customers who have previously used it do not really pose too much of an issue for anyone who is looking to purchase it, but in the interest of fairness we will look at them. The body of the drill is made of a cheaper plastic, but as this is not intended to be a top of the range drill this is not too much of an issue. The other small negative point is the lack of carry case, but this can be solved by going out and purchasing a separate one!

What’s the conclusion?

When everything is weighed up, the positives far outweigh the negatives for the Black and Decker. It is a well put together if not a little budget drill, and it is more than up to the task of completing your home DIY tasks with ease! This is not a piece of kit you would regret buying.
